What Hale does
Hale measures your habits against published public-health guidance. That is the claim, and it is the only claim.
Habits, not hype.
Hale scores what you do: how you sleep, eat, move, recover and carry yourself. It never sets calorie targets, goal weights or BMI.
And more is not better. Over-training and over-treating lower the score, so it can tell you when you are doing too much.
Sleep
Duration and regularity, measured against published adult guidance. A steady rhythm counts as much as the total.
Weight 22% of your score
Three steps. No guesswork.

Sliders and cards, no typing. It covers all six pillars, every time.

Curious how it moves?
Change a pillar and watch the total, and the forms above. Weights are fixed, so scores stay comparable.
How is the Hale Score calculated?
From your assessment answers, run through a documented scoring model across six weighted pillars — sleep, nutrition, training, recovery, skin and posture. It's deterministic: the same answers always produce the same score, and every result shows exactly which answers moved it.
Is this medical advice?
No. Hale measures your habits against published public-health guidance — it doesn't diagnose anything, and the coach can't give doses or set intake targets. If something needs medical attention, we'll tell you to speak to a GP.
Why is there no calorie counting?
Because it doesn't tell you much on its own, and it's the part of health tracking most likely to turn into something unhealthy. Nutrition is scored on composition instead — protein adequacy, plant diversity, how processed your food is — never on calories, macros or a goal weight. There's no BMI anywhere in the model either.
What about the height claim — does this make me taller?
No bone growth is possible once your growth plates have closed. What's real is 1–2cm of postural recovery — the slouching and tightness that build up over a day genuinely compress your spine — plus improved perceived height from how you carry yourself. That's the whole claim.
Does this work if I'm over 50?
Yes — the model is built for adults at any age, not just people training for a physique. Sleep, recovery and posture matter as much (often more) later in life, and the assessment adjusts for age where the underlying guidance does.
What happens to my data?
It's yours. We don't sell it, and you can ask to have it deleted at any time. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
How do I cancel?
Any time, from your account's billing settings — no phone call, no retention flow. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
What's actually free?
The assessment, your Hale Score, and the full breakdown across all six pillars — for as long as you want. The habit tracker, the AI coach and your score history over time are free while we test Hale, and will need a subscription after that. We'll tell you before anything changes.
Will my score change if you update the model?
Only going forward. Every result is versioned, so improving the model never silently rewrites your history — past scores stay exactly as they were computed.
What if the assessment flags something?
A few screening questions check for disordered eating and exercise compulsion. If one flags, we suppress the numeric Nutrition and Training scores, switch to qualitative guidance instead, turn off streaks and notifications on those pillars, and show support resources. It's built in, not an afterthought.
